Efficacy of <i>Beauveria Bassiana</i> and <i>Metarhizium anisopliae</i> Against <i>Tomato Leaf</i> Miner <i>Phthorimaea Absoluta</i>(meyrick)

The tomato leaf miner Phthorimaea absoluta(Meyrick), earlier known by the scientific name Tuta absoluta (Meyrick) (Lepidoptera: Gelechiidae) is one of most devastating global pests tomatoes. Using indigenous entomopathogenic fungi can be a promising solution to manage it. Effıcacyof EPF isolates on third-instar larvae was carried out in Ethiopia during 2021-2022. Ten were inoculated with conidiaa suspensions three replications. result showed that larval mortality significantly different (p<0.05) among concentrations and isolates. Beauveria bassiana caused 70 81% mortality, lowest LC 50 1.87x104 9.79x10 4 conidia/ ml; 95 5.68x108 1.10x10 11 conidia/ml shortest LT 3.6 5.7 days. These considered highly virulent while Metarhizium anisopliae determined as moderately having 46 63% (highest LC50 1.36x106 4.94x10 7and 4.3 8 days). Results also revealed 1x10 10 ml effective dose 6 least effective.
